Having worked with countless attorneys personally and professionally for over twenty years, I was pleasantly surprised at how different my experience was with Schauermann Thayer. Attorney Scott Edwards and paralegal Bryan Atchley got to know me not only as a client but also as an individual, showing sincere care and concern for me throughout my case. I can’t recall a conversation that didn’t begin with, “How are you?” It was never a mundane or obligatory inquiry; they authentically wanted me to report how I was feeling, how things were going and if there was anything else I needed them to know. Both were attentive and genuinely demonstrated compassion toward me and my situation. Periodically they gave insight into their personal lives, which enhanced their relatability. Individually and collectively, Scott and Bryan built rapport such that there was never any question that they were working for me and that they were laser focused on my best interest. That trusting relationship made it easy to have open, honest and frank conversations that were necessary but not necessarily easy. Most importantly, I never felt that I had to withhold my opinion; not only were my thoughts and feedback invited, but they were also incorporated into the handling of my case. Opposing counsel and the pandemic caused a few bumps in the road; despite clearly being beyond Scott’s control, he was always apologetic and expressed mutual frustration. We recently came to a settlement, and I was pleased with the outcome of my complex and lengthy case. While initially I was looking for an effective attorney, I found that and so much more in Schauermann Thayer.
